Going to Tamiko now is like being on the set of "Kitchen Nightmares", I half expected Gordon Ramsey to start yelling from the kitchen. This really is a shame because this used to be the place to go to for quick Japanese during lunch.
I ordered take out one night and got home and my order was incorrect. Salvador and the employees there did everything to correct my order and offer for me to come in and get the correct order. Thank you for your kind service and correcting your mistake. I appreciate it!
Decent, standard Japanese dining experience for the area. Personally, I'd rather go to Sakura (roughly the same quality food for a little cheaper). Their mushroom broth soup is actually very good. We had a little bit of a weird problem though, we both ordered sesame chicken, and it came with no sesame seeds. When we asked, they just said they were out, and didn't offer anything as compensation. I remember when this place first opened, you got a free small scoop of ice cream after your meal. Its definitely gone way downhill since then. For the total bill, we could've had a nice dinner somewhere else. Me and the wife won't be back.
Have eaten there since it opened and have always teally liked the food. But went there today for lunch and was really disappointed. They have changed to both Japanese and Mexican now and it's not the same. No longer have salad. Mushrooms are now extra $2.00. I just ordered the fried rice and it was way under cooked. Part of it was still crunchy. And for less food you now pay more. Will not be back again.
Went with a party of three and were seated quickly. Before we ordered drinks a bowl of chips and salsa was placed on table. My friends ordered from the Japanese menu bu based on the chips and salsa I ordered a Mexican dish. After we all ordered they brought out bowls of the mushroom broth.... I was very confused as this doesn't go well with Mexican. Just as chips and salsa don't go with Yaki and Chicken. The food arrived and looked good but everything was off like the meat had been cooked with the spices from the Japanese menu. The meal was terrible and asking my friends Japanese dish were they said the same thing "flavor is off"
Came in with a party of five. They just introduced the Mexican cuisine, so it was busy enough to have the majority of the tables full. However, after 20 minutes of waiting (after being seated) without so much as glance in our general direction, one of our party got up and asked. We were told it it was going to be a little bit longer because "they were swamped". I wasn't expecting immediate service, but a drink order would have been nice... or even to interact with us in the slightest. My guess is the two servers were unsure of who the table should have gone. Rather than clarifying, we were ignored. Pleasant ending, we left and went across the street to Wasabi, paid more but the food was amazing and were treated with a show.
Skip this restaurant, better Mexican and traditional Japanese fare can be had elsewhere for less cost.s
