I picked up an old bike as a restoration project from Henry's Motorcycles last weekend. Definitely an old-school motorcycle shop. Everybody was very nice and helpful! :)
There were some old Hondas in the shop that I didn't even know existed!

I wore out a tire on a multi-state ride last week and decided it must be replaced when I stopped for gas in Kingsport, TN. I called Henry completely by chance. He said to come in and an hour later I was back on the road. Henry's is not a typical moto shop and Henry isn't a typical bland salesman or mechanic. Henry has a spirit of his own that I found refreshing and enjoyable. I'm sure many people won't appreciate Henry like I did--but to Hell with them. Henry's all-right! He let me watch him work and he did everything by the book. He didn't rip me off with the price, either.
Shop smells of cat piss and the indigent population. Went in looking for cool vintage stuff for a shop I'm opening in another state and was met with nothing but ignorance and negativity. Lots of cool stuff rotting away as well as plenty of trash (and it is everywhere) with little organization or order. Age doesn't make anything valuable. Personability and knowledge is priceless. You said come back in 3 years and tell you about my shop? Ill put money that in 3 years, the only thing in that building is "your" stinky ass cats.
Had heard great things about the late Henry, but seems JR is doing a poor job living up to the name.
I walked out waving the roll of hundreds I walked in and was sure to tell them that the sale of the year was walking out the door. I was met with blank stares. What a waste of space.
I called about cleaning my carbs and he was a smart ass hick...wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire I'm talking about the owner
